Big Eggo was one of
the Beano's First Characters, he appeared on the cover of Beano
Isse One way back in July 1938 debuting with the words 'Somebody's
taken my egg again!'. Big Eggo was drawn by artist Reg Carter
and remained the cover story of the beano for Ten Years before
being replaced by Biffo the Bear. Big Eggo remained in the Beano
until issue 358 in 1949. Big Eggo appeared briefly in a 2001
Lord Snooty story published in Beano issue 3093 in which he was
shown to be living happily with many other past Beano Characters
in the Beano Retirement Home.
