Roger dodging exploits
were first seen in Beano issue 561, in April 1963. He would
dodge chores or homework by some ingenious and entertaining
manner. He carried a Dodgers Kit n a suitcase always ready
with a disguise or false broken leg to dodge chores, and an
array of Dodge Books full of all sorts of dodging ideas. Rogers
dodging usually backfired by the end of the story resulting
in a good slippering by his long suffering Father.
Roger was originally
drawn by Ken Reid, followed by Gordon Bell in 1959 and a stream
of artists up till Barry Appleby today
