| History-
Nathan
is the son of X- man Scott Summers (Cyclops),
and Madelyne Pryor. Soon after his birth Scott left to be reunited
with his former love Jean Grey (Marvel
Girl) and Madelyne was left to raise Nathan alone. As it
turned out (Not unusually in the Marvel Universe), Madelyne
was actually a clone of Marvel Girl created by the evil Mr.
Sinister to make a child for himself. Madelyne was perverted
to his evil scheme and the baby Nathan was to be sacrificed
to sustain a portal between Earth and demonic dimension Limbo,
in the incident, that came to be known as the Inferno. After
his rescue by the X- Men and X- Factor, Nathan was raised by
Scott and Jean until he was infected with the Techno Virus,
by Apocalypse. To save him his parents sent him 2000 years into
the future with a member of the Clan Askani who assured the
Nathan would be cured and become a saviour of his times. In
the Future Nathan was raised to be the Askani's Son, to save
the world from Apocalypse and the New Canaanites. At this time
clone of Nathan was made that was kidnapped by the New Canaanites
and grew to become the villain Stryfe. The young Nathan learned
how to use his telekinetic powers to to keep the virus that
wracked his body at bay although it spread up his right arm
and side. He defeated Apocalypse in his own time, then taking
the name Cable, travelled back to his original time frame with
his attack force the Six Pack to defeat Stryfe. Here he discovered
Sam Guthrie
leader of the New mutants, and on his return to the future found
records of Sam in the 23rd Century. Thinking him to be one of
the group of Immortal mutants known as the Externals, Cable
returned to the past to guide Sam, becoming the mentor of the
New Mutants and reorganising them into the mutant team X- Force.
During a battle to save Professor Xavier from Stryfe, both Cable
and Strife fell into a temporal rift. Strife's body was destroyed
but his mind took over Cable's body. Cable regained control
of his and found his telepathic and telekinetic powers increased. |
