| History
- Whilst
working underground in a coal mine, a cave in trapped the young
Sam Guthrie, the panic of trying to save his fellow worker,
sparked off his latent mutant powers and he blasted his way
to freedom. Sam's mutant ability was discovered by Donald Pierce
of the Hellfire Club, who recruited him and sent him against
the newly formed New Mutants. Sam disobeyed Pierce's order to
kill the New Mutants and Pierce turned on him. He was saved
by Professor
Xavier and subsequently joined the New Mutants later becoming
the teams leader. When the the New mutants were reorganised
by Cable and became
X- Force, Sam went with them and became a cornerstone of the
team. Cannonball then went on to join the X- Men proud to make
his mark with Xavier's first team. |
