Stephen
Strange was an arrogant and gifted brain surgeon until he was
involved in a car accident that left the nerves in his hands
irreparably damaged. Stephen travelled to Tibet in search of
the ancient one, a powerful sorcerer, in the hope of finding
a mystic cure but discovered that the Ancient One's apprentice
Baron Mordo was trying to kill his master. Stephen warned the
Ancient One of the impending attack only to learn that the sorcerer
was fully aware of Mordo's plans. Mordo restrained Stephen with
magical energies but was ultimately defeated by his master who
seeing the latent potential for great good within Stephen's
soul made him his new apprentice. As Dr Strange's powers grew
so did the dangers he faced defending the Earth from mystic
menaces such as Dormammu, the eater of souls, and the Dread
One. During his adventures Dr Strange acquired a cloak of levitation
and the all seeing Eye of Agamotto. When the Ancient One died
Dr Strange became the foremost mystic on the planet and the
Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. Dr Strange was also a founding member
of the super group the Defenders that he originally brought
together to fight the menace of the techno wizard Yandroth and
his super computer Omegatron. |
