| History-
After the
death of his parents when he was eight years old, Clint Barton
and his older brother Barney were put into an orphanage. They
later ran away with a carnival were Clint became apprentice
to the mysterious weapons expert the Swordsman. Clint soon discovered
his adeptness with a bow and arrow and became the shows trick
marksman under the name Hawkeye the Archer. After seeing the
superhero Ironman, Clint decided the crime fighting path was
for him, he made himself a costume and set about to use his
skills as a crimefighter. On his first mission he was mistaken
for a criminal and found himself up against Ironman himself,
but the mistake was soon realised and Ironman recommended him
for membership in the newly formed Avengers with whom he served
for many years going on to lead the West Coast branch of the
team alongside his wife ex SHIELD agent and adventurer Mockingbird.
Some time later Mockingbird was killed in action and the West
Coast Avengers disbanded, Clint wandered despondently for some
time before rejoining the Avengers. He did not stay with the
team for long leaving to lead a group of ex supervillains seeking
redemption for their past crimes, Hawkeye led the Thunderbolts
as a team of superheroes in a bid for them to earn a pardon
but the government would not relent. Eventually using information
he had on secret mind control projects operated by the US government,
Hawkeye managed a pardon for his comrades at the expense of
his own freedom. |
