| History-
Born of
Cheyenne Indian descent, Danni's powers appeared at quite a
young age, she began to see visions of her parents death at
the hands of a demon bear and her parents disappeared. She thought
them dead, victims of her nightmare demon, but they were in
fact transformed into the bear. The same fate was in store for
Danni, but she was protected from its power by her Grandfather
the Shaman Black Eagle who then raised the girl in the mountains.
When Danni was old enough to leave Black Eagle ordered her to
Professor Xavier's school where she could learn to control her
powers, before Xavier arrived to collect her Black eagle was
killed by the mutant Donald Pierce who hunted Danni down. She
was saved from Pierce by the arrival of the professor and his
mutant pupil Magma and Danni went with them and came to lead
Xavier's youngest group the New Mutants alongside team mate
Sam Guthrie. Without the protection of Black Eagle, Danni was
vulnerable to attack from the demon bear, Danni was injured
in battle with the bear but it was defeated by Magik's Soulsword
and Danni's parents returned to their mortal forms. Whilst on
a mission in Asgard, Danni bonded with a Valkyrie winged horse
named Brightwing and the ability to see and fight off death.
After returning to Earth for while Danni elected to go back
to Asgard to come to terms with her new power. She returned
with a new black horse, Darkwing and and worked undercover for
Nick Fury and the espionage agency SHIELD infiltrating the Mutant
Liberation Front. She then rejoined some of her original team-
mates in X- Force and has since returned to college and become
a part time X- Man. |
