| History-
Wolverine's past is shrouded in mystery, one sure
fact though is that at some point his brain was manipulated
and false memories implanted in his mind so that even his own
recollections are unreliable. One verifiable incident in Logan's
past is a meeting with Captain America during World War Two
so he is a lot older than he looks, it is possible that his
mutant healing factor helps keep him in his physical prime.
At some point Logan was conscripted by the Canadian government
into the Weapon X Project. It was here that his entire skeleton
was plated with the ultra strong metal Adamantium, a process
made possible by his mutant healing factor, making his bones
unbreakable and giving him retractable claws that spring from
his knuckles. Logan believed the claws to be an artificial enhancement
but later discovered they where actually part of his skeleton..
With these additions to his natural mutant abilities, Wolverine
was a formidable weapon and was used by the Canadian Government
on various missions, including an encounter with the Hulk, under
the code name Weapon X. Logan was being groomed to lead the
government mutant team Alpha Flight but left at the request
of Professor Xavier to aid in the rescue of the original X-
Men from the living island Krakoa. Wolverine remained with the
X- Men partly due to his feelings towards his team mate Jean
Grey |
