| Around this time, he got married to his first wife, Kathy-
and Lee junior came along. Then in 1962 with a back injury, he had to
re-think his destiny, and fate stepped in with a meeting with Rock Hudson
Who Hardly need any introduction here. |
| The two men became firm friends, and it was probably Hudson
who encouraged Lee to try his hand at acting. He was introduced to Eben
Henson, owner/ Director of the Pioneer Plyhouse in Danville,Kentucky.
Henson said he could tell right away that Majors had the physical characteristics
that would look good on screen. |

Althou his private life was heading for
divorce- Lee was aiming for Hollywood. Then came the long succession
of bit parts, Will Penny, The Liberation of L. B. Jones and other admittedly
forgetable parts. but the fame came through the TV series The Big Valley
with Barbara Stanwyck. Lee recalls that he was worried at the thought
of doing a western. "I didnt even know how to ride a horse." Inevitably
he learned. Thats the way he is, give him a challenge and he accepts
it. Maybe its part of being an orphan. That determination to show that
he has an identity. |
There was the series Owen Marshall then
Counciller at Law. And at last the big deall- the Six Million Dollar
Deal, as Steve Austen, superhero of the cyborg age. |
